Mark Nestor, MD, PhD, is a world renowned clinician, researcher, and educator in the field of clinical Dermatology and aesthetic medicine. He is Co-Chairman of Advanced Dermatology Management, a physician practice management company, and a managing partner of Skin and Cancer Associates, one of the largest physician owned, Dermatology practice groups in the country with 40 offices throughout Florida.
Dr. Nestor received his bachelor’s degree in cellular biology from The State University of New York, his doctorate in experimental pathology and immunology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and his medical degree from UCLA School of Medicine. He completed his internship in internal medicine at UCLA Medical Center and West Los Angeles VA Medical Center and his residency in Dermatology at New York University.
Dr. Nestor is a world-recognized expert in clinical Dermatology including acne and skin cancer, light therapies to treat skin disease, cutaneous laser surgery, photodynamic therapy, Radiation Therapy, and the use of fillers and toxins in aesthetic medicine. He serves as a consultant to numerous pharmaceutical and device companies, assisting them in the development of new medications, devices, and cosmeceuticals. He has authored more than 80 articles and book chapters and has delivered over 800 major presentations around the world. He serves on the Editorial Boards for The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, the Journal of Cutaneous Laser Therapy and the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. As the conference director for major professional society meetings, Dr. Nestor has developed many programs on a broad array of topics in the fields of cosmetic dermatology, laser surgery, and practice management. He is the Chair of the Annual South Beach Symposium.
Dr. Nestor has served on the Board of Directors or Trustees, and has held the office of president and other titles, for many organizations, including the International Society for Cosmetic and Laser Surgeons, the American Society for Photodynamic Therapy, and the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. He is the founding president of the American Cutaneous Oncology Society.
Dr. Nestor has received numerous awards including the Distinguished Service Award from the Florida Society of Dermatology. He has received three awards from the International Master Course on Aging Skin: the Research Award (2011), the Presentation Award (2013), and the Teaching Award (2014, 2015 and 2016).
